Dan Barichasse

Dan Barichasse has chosen painting in 1976.

Minimal and formal at its beginnings, his painting evolved, and finally took shape. Step by step the themes of the memory, the time, the creation and the engendering get tied up in different cycles which will give to his work permanency and mutation.

The series « At the beginning », « Passing », « Figures of the sources », « Deluge», illustrate this period. A pictorial language, near to the poetic has born throughout those paintings. Today, this expression let him brush the figures and the evocation of the mineral, the vegetal, and the animal or the human. An extreme fluidity characterizes his pieces.

This work questions the processes of the medium's mutation. From composition to decomposition, the material is reduced to dust and regress in a genesis of shapes to become spirituality.

Dan Barichasse's work is part of the collections of the "Fonds National d’Art Contemporain", of the City of Paris' collections and has been part of solo or group exhibitions in France and in other countries.
