Inhye Lee

Originally from Seoul, Korea. Now mostly based in Brooklyn, New York.

Artist Statement : I make objects and installations with moving images, sound and interactivity.

My work starts when I find missing links connecting scattered inspirations; childhood memories, everyday observation, performance arts, humor, environmental issues, experience design and interpersonal relationships, among others. Though they often come from unrelated sources, there are times that one inspiration intersects with another one that belongs to a clearly distinct world. After discovering the connection between previously random points, I draw a line between them and start defining their hidden relationships.

Through this process, I try to transform the ordinary surroundings into a playground where interesting stories arise. I want the audience to have a moment of imagination and engage themselves both emotionally and viscerally.
