Founded in 2010 by Valérie Hasson-Benillouche, Galerie Charlot is a pioneering space dedicated to contemporary artistic practices at the intersection of art, science, and technology. Since its inception, the gallery has supported digital experimentation through exhibitions, performances, and talks, fostering a dynamic dialogue between emerging, mid-career, and established artists, as well as collectors, institutions, and researchers.

Based in Paris, with a second space in Tel Aviv, Galerie Charlot has built an international presence through collaborations with festivals, museums, art fairs, galleries, and curators. The gallery regularly participates in major events in cities such as Paris, Basel, Brussels, New York, Miami, Chicago, Montreal, and beyond.

Under the direction of Valérie Hasson-Benillouche—who has been involved with institutions such as SIGGRAPH Paris, the Nemo Festival, the Digital Humanities Foundation (FHDN), Arcadi, and the Laguna Prize in Venice—the gallery has established itself as a key player in the field of digital art. Galerie Charlot has collaborated with renowned institutions including the Centre Pompidou, Tate Modern, ZKM, La Gaîté Lyrique, MAC Lyon, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Times Square Arts in New York, and the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, on innovative projects featuring artists such as Sabrina Ratté, Quayola, Manfred Mohr, Jacques Perconte, and Chun Hua C. Dong.

In 2023, the gallery received the Samuel Champlain Cultural Award for its commitment to promoting Quebec digital art, particularly in supporting the work of artist Sabrina Ratté in France.

In parallel, Valérie Hasson-Benillouche initiates projects with major luxury and innovation players such as Hermès, Audemars Piguet, Société Générale, Oddo Bank, Shiseido, and C21 Hotels. She also co-founded MaraisdigitARt in 2023 alongside Kim Départe—an association offering augmented reality art tours in historic districts around the world.

A member of the CPGA (Professional Committee of Art Galleries) since 2012, Galerie Charlot remains deeply committed to showcasing the most innovative forms of contemporary art.
