Baron Lanteigne

By developing his own real-time creative tools within his virtual environments, Baron Lanteigne pursues research that brings artists physically closer to their medium, reintroducing gesture at the heart of the dialogue between creation and the digital. Through a performative creative process that leaves room for the artist's spontaneity, his works become the traces of a fluid practice, capturing the evolution of his practice and of its modes of dissemination.

Baron Lanteigne subverts digital technologies to reveal their materiality and their potential. The hand, a central element of his work, becomes the prism through which he highlights the ergonomic limits of digital interfaces. Using a material specific to the virtual, Baron Lanteigne considers the hand not only as a tool of control that maintains the balance of his virtual world, but also as a matrix or a territory that questions the contortions technologies impose on our bodies and gestures.

This hand, at once familiar and in perpetual metamorphosis, oscillates between a multitude of impossible forms, evolving in a liminal space within the uncanny valley, where recognition falters and strangeness sets in.
