Landscape is one of the oldest genres in the history of Western art. With Generative Landscape, Galerie Charlot Tel Aviv raises the question of its reinvention in the digital age: what becomes of landscape when it is no longer the artist's hand but an algorithm that generates it? What remains of the pictorial tradition when forms emerge from computational rules rather than from direct observation of nature?

Anne-Sarah Le Meur, Antoine Schmitt and Eric Vernhes offer three distinct and complementary answers to these questions. Le Meur explores pure colour as a sensory experience, constructing luminous spaces that evolve in real time according to complex systems. Antoine Schmitt programs dynamic sculptures in which movement and tension are the sole subjects. Vernhes, for his part, summons the memory of domestic interiors and childhood landscapes and transforms them into generated spaces, at once familiar and strange. Three voices, three approaches, one shared conviction: that the algorithm, far from dehumanising art, opens up new possibilities for expressing what we feel in the face of the world.
