Since 2010, Galerie Charlot has developed its programme around the relationship between art, technology and science, exhibiting established, mid-career and emerging artists working across a range of media, from the traditional to the experimental.

This tenth anniversary comes at a time when media art is attracting renewed attention, thanks to landmark exhibitions such as “Electronic Superhighway” at the Whitechapel Gallery (2016), “Artistes & Robots” at the Grand Palais (2018), “Coder le monde” at the Centre Pompidou (2018) and “Programmed: Rules, Codes and Choreographies in Art” at the Whitney Museum (2019).

While the earliest works in the exhibition date back to the early 1970s, with Manfred Mohr's algorithmic drawings, those by emerging artists such as Quayola, Sabrina Ratté and Flavien Théry bear witness to a new generation's engagement with contemporary technology: 3D software, computer-generated animation, 3D laser scanners and the mechanisms of perception.

With works by Antoine Schmitt, Eric Vernhes, Anne-Sarah Le Meur, Eduardo Kac, Flavien Théry, Manfred Mohr, Sabrina Ratté, Zaven Paré, Mikhail Margolis, Dominique Pétrin, Nikolas Chasser Skilbeck, Laurent Mignonneau & Christa Sommerer, Quayola, Thomas Israel, Nicolas Sassoon.

Galerie Charlot, based in Paris and Tel Aviv, celebrates its tenth anniversary with an exhibition bringing together the work of the artists it represents, illustrating the diversity of approaches to media across several generations.
