Nikolas Chasser Skilbeck is a visual artist born in New York in 1985. His unique perspective offers us a pictorial, poetic, and uncanny world. Through various mediums (4K screens, projections, building mapping, installations, holograms) and drawing deep inspiration from the history of art and cinema, his videos share their distinct experiences of time and create a powerful atmosphere of unreality, opening up a vast universe of sensations for the viewer that leaves room for both peace and unease.
Nikolas studied at the École nationale supérieure d'art de Bourges, where he graduated with honors. His artistic research has led him to complete numerous artist residencies in France and abroad (Portugal, Egypt), supported by renowned museums, art centers, and associations such as the MAC/VAL Museum in Vitry-sur-Seine and the Olivier Debré Contemporary Art Center (CCC OD) in Tours. He is a professor at the École supérieure d'art et de design TALM-Tours.
