Olivier Ratsi’s work approaches objective reality, time, space and matter as immaterial notions of information. It draws on the experience of reality and its representations, in particular on the way we perceive space.
Using an anamorphosis technique developed over the course of his research, he deconstructs spatio-temporal reference points to give rise to new viewpoints. Rather than aiming for emotion or sensory shock, his works act as catalysts: each viewer is invited to subjectively reconstruct reality and to take a position based on their own perception.
A member of ANTIVJ since 2007, he has exhibited at MAAT in Lisbon, the Light Art Museum in Budapest, the Exploratorium in San Francisco, La Gaîté Lyrique and the Grande Halle de la Villette, as well as at festivals such as Mutek, Elektra, the Biennale Némo and the Amsterdam Light Festival. At Galerie Charlot, he took part in DIGIT-ALL (2023).
