Pastel · Collage · Drawing · Ceramics
Born in Paris, Patrick Chambon spent his adolescence in south-eastern France before studying at the Arts Décoratifs in Monaco, then at the Beaux-Arts in Toulouse and Lorient, and returning to Paris. His work develops the image in layers, like archaeological strata, in the wake of Dubuffet’s “sols et texturologies”.
Pastel, collage and erasing are his preferred tools. The series “Jeux d’enfants” explores childhood and identity; from 2009 onwards, he developed anamorphic forms and carpet motifs, seen in “Le Divan de Freud” and the “Oscar Tapi” works. More recently, the “PlissurePlis” series and his draped ceramics have made the fold a central motif.
At Galerie Charlot, he took part in MIXED MEDIA (2013) and LE PAPIER DANS TOUS SES ÉTATS (2014), before the solo exhibition DÉ-PLIS (2017). He has also exhibited at the Musée de Vence (2017) and published “Lacan Ô Banquet de Platon” (2016).
